Before applying for funding, make sure your organization meets all of the requirements below:
- Your organization is a 501(C)(3)
- Your organization is in good standing with the state of Louisiana
- You will serve homeless clients in AT LEAST one of the following parishes: Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron or Jefferson Davis (subject to change)
- Your organization will provide homeless services in AT LEAST one of the following: Support, Response, Education (subject to change)
Each year the United Way of Southwest Louisiana Community Investment team, a group of local, experienced community volunteers will assemble to assess the priorities of our homeless community members. The team will review applications and interview agency representatives to clarify each program’s goals, funding needs, and its ability to meet The Path Home’s assessed priorities. Recommendations as to which agencies are to be funded and how the funds will be distributed will be presented to the United Way Board of Directors. This process assures The Path Home donors that their contributions are battling the most pressing issues and reaching the people who are in urgent need of help.
All aspects of The Path Home’s finances are subject to an annual independent audit. All of the information will be available to the public through an Annual Report.
